Message from the ChancellorChancellor Bernadette Gray-Little

The University Innovation Alliance is an unparalleled effort to ensure more low-income and first-generation students earn a college degree. This alliance of 11 public research universities will create a space where university leaders can collaborate on ideas and strategies that have been proven to help recruit students from all backgrounds and ensure they earn their degree. The University of Kansas is proud to be a member of this pioneering group, and we look forward to contributing in a way that benefits low-income and first-generation students, our university and our society. I call on the entire KU community – students, faculty and staff – to join us in this important endeavor.

KU Core

The KU Core stretches across the undergraduate experience, yielding fundamental skills, building a broad background of knowledge, generating capacities and opportunities for blending and creating ideas, strengthening an appreciation of cultural and global diversity, and cultivating ethical integrity. Each of our six educational goals has one or more distinct learning outcomes. Learn more visit

DEI Strategy

Undergraduate Studies is committed to creating and promoting an inclusive and diverse learning environment, in our offices, through our programming, and throughout our services supporting students. Our leadership team is currently developing a DEI strategy that will guide our efforts across the units. The strategy will be regularly reviewed and adapted to reflect the needs of the community we serve.
