Academic Year Participation & Expectations

After the conclusion of the summer program, Adidas Leadership Scholars will be expected to participate in various academic, service, and leadership events including meeting regularly with their assigned academic advisor, success coach, and peer mentor(s). The events are not designed to take away from coursework but will instead enhance student learning and support scholars through critical moments in the academic year.

In addition to participating in required events, scholars are expected to complete 30 credit hours per year (including transfer hours) and maintain at least a 2.50 GPA throughout the duration of the program.

Summer Expectations & Opportunities

One of the major program opportunities outside of the classroom is the Adidas Leadership Scholars experiential learning requirement. Experiential learning is a process through which students develop knowledge, skills, and values from direct experiences outside a traditional academic setting. Experiential learning encompasses a variety of activities including internships, service learning, undergraduate research, study abroad, summer courses, and other creative and professional work experiences.

Each scholar will be required to participate in an experiential learning activity in their second and third summers in the program. Scholars will work with their success coaches and academic advisors to select the activity that best fits the needs of their academic and career ambitions. Scholars will also be eligible to apply for additional funding to off-set the costs of their experiential learning activity.
